How do I convince my wife that working out with light weights won't make her big, bulky, and really muscular?

My wife thinks that if she works out with weights, even light weights, she will get very muscular. Are there any websites or other sources of information I can show her the benefits of light weights, and that her mentality is wrong?

You can convince her be proving it yourself.

Take her to a gym, hospital or health center and let them take her body composition (how much fat, muscle, water, etc...). Find out how much muscle weight she has.

You can even take her body measurements like her chest, arms, legs, etc...

Let her work out as she wishes for a week, then take her again to get her body composition. See if she actually gained any muscle weight. And also compare her body measurements, see if she gained even 1 millimeter.

I do this every week to make sure I'm doing it right. I don't guess.

does an electric heater work on the same principle as a light bulb?

is there a filament in the heater, just as there is in the bulb?

(the light bulb is, in a sense, a heater?)

(and the heater, is in a sense, a light source?)

Yes, it's the same principal. In both cases, current flows through an element (wire/filament/whatever). The element heats up and produces 2 big things - light and heat. In the lightbulb's case, it is optimized to produce mostly light, and heat just comes with it. In an electric heater's case, it produces mostly heat, and light comes with it.
