Ladies who've had a baby personal question?

Sorry to ask such a personal question but I've had two babies, had quite bad stitches from first one as the first baby was forceps and second one I tore, anyway...that was a few years ago and I've noticed I've got like a flap of skin that's come away from the back part of the vagina between the vagina and the perernium. Not sure if this is common or not. It doesn't hurt but looks horrid, my partner said he'd look down there for me but I am too scared. Please help. I know I need to go to the doctors but am wondering if I will need surgery, stitches killed me and I can't bear the thought of the pain again. Many thanks

yes this is definitely common, everything has been stretched down there. talk to your doctor about it and if it bothers you they can do surgery

Hiya just wondering your views and experiences about planned c-sections?

I have a problem with my pelvis(right hip is pinned) and i was given a consultatiion with my first pregnancy due to this and labour worries but i was told i should not experience any problems during labour. But after 26 hours and forceps suction etc they discovered tha my baby was stuck in my pelvis and i got rushed for an emergancy section he turned out to be 9lb 5oz so that might of contributed to getting stuck. All was ok and i didnt have any major problems after surgery and got my mobility back pretty quick. im now expecting baby no.2 and cant decide whether to opt for a section or to risk having a natural labour but im worried this might end in a section anyway. It would be nice to know whether im able to give birth normally and think of planned sections a bit odd knowing exactly when baby is arriving and im worried about the epidural or spinal block and the risks cos i was out of it last time and didnt have an option. can anybody help or advise or share their experiences please.

I had to have a c-section with my first child as he was breech position, I then opted to have a c-section with my second child as my doctor recommended that it was safer.

The epidural/spinal block i believe is not nearly as bad as you would think it is and the whole process from getting the spinal to the baby being born was 25 minutes. within 40 minutes of going to theatre I was on the phone telling everyone.

With regards to the healing i healed really quickly after both my sections so I imagine if you did heal quickly with the first you would probably be the same with the 2nd.

With regards to your concerns over finding it odd that you would know exactly when the baby was going to arrive, in my case this proved to be very useful as i was able to prepare my other child and we could count days on the calendar and also i was able to organise in advance my 1st childs care for the day that i would have the c-section.

All in all no negatives!!!!
