Are our throats normally pinkish?

I've been getting some constant throat irritation for about 3 months. Doctors can't figure it out. I've had the reflux tests done, all negative, unresponsive to pills...no bacteria seen.

My question is, I wakeup with a sore/scratchy throat that goes away and turns into a cough sensation that I feel throughout the day...when I look in the mirror, I see that my throat is reddish/irritated, but every doctor I've been to says it looks fine. I went to an ENT and had a laryngoscope, he said he saw no redness or irritation, but when I look in the mirror it appears reddish.

Am I just obsessing? Do throats have a natural pinkish/red color to them? Could the irritation have died down by the time I got to the ENT so he was unable to see it?

Red throats, doctors can tell, we can't?

My throat is sore in the morning and when I look at it in the mirror with light, it looks red. I've been to a 2-3 different doctors who say it looks fine. I even went to an ENT who scoped it with a laryngoscope and said there was no irritation or inflammation.

Is the medical definition of "red throat" different than what can be seen with the naked eye? Am I just paranoid?
