Medical Assistant?

What are the advantage of being a certified Medical Assistant . Is that profession a good field to be in. Someone told me being a Medical Assistant helps to understand the dynamics of assisting doctors and nurses and can lead to a nurse degree if one choses

I agree. I just graduated a medical assistant program myself and I was always told that being an MA..is truly adjacent to being an LPN but only without certain allowances to do things an LPN can. Whatever school you pick to do MA, make sure that the have an externship program where you can recieve full extensive training and get your money's worth.

I completed my medical extern at an Internal Med clinic and I learned a lot for front and back office. A lot of practices won't allow that. The greatest advantage of becoming a CMA is that you can work anywhere in the united states and you dont have to get licensed in every state. You can do travel contract work just like nurses do, and then most demands are of course clinical.

Most schools offer MA degrees for an extra few months, but I advise you to not stop there... ultimate masters in Nursing will take you many places !
