Radiation - Use of Sr-90 by Veterinarians?

Is the use of Sr-90 applicators to treat small animal tumors a common and established practice? I am asking about a 150 mCi source that will be used to treat to a depth of 2 cm. I would appreciate a reply from any Veterinarians that have used or currently using Sr-90 to treat tumors.
As additional information. As for the Vet using it must be established. You would be surprised how many request I receive to use radiaoctive material in ways that are not established. My job is reviewing applications for radiactive material licenses.

Well if the vet is using it, it probably is an established practice. It all works practically the same anyway, as the radioactive chemical decays it gives off alpha or beta particles which kill the tumor.

I live in Belize and can't run down to the local hardware store. Nowhere in the country knows what I am talking about. I used it in Florida with wonderful results.
