Source Camera
Is there another way to change camera source for webcam operations?
I have done everything under preferences (see below)
Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Start My Webcam."
Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Preferences."
Click the "Webcam" category.
Click the "Camera Source" button.
Click the pull-down menu and select the desired camera.
Click the "OK" button.
The only camera source I am seeing is Microsoft WDM Image Capture(win 32) Version 5.1 2600.21
The actual capture source is QuickCam Orbit/Sphere MP.
Am not able to change camera source.
Please help!

I had a similar problem. Bugged me for 2 weeks. Tried removing the messenger program and reinstall to no avail. Solved it this morning.
You need to permanently deleat or trash, all preferences! On my Mac we have a system preference folder. I found about 5 different yahoo preferences. After removing them all problem was solved.
Warning doing this means you will have to reset up all preference selections including your avatar and any yahoo passwords remembered by your computor.

Webcam is not working in Messenger/Microsoft WDM Image Capture shows as camera source?
My logitech orbit web cam was working fine. Now Messenger shows
Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32), Version: 5.1.2600.218
as the camera in the source box and its the only one shown. Camera shows up fine in Device manager.
Am using Messenger 8.1 wint Windows XP media
Please help
I forgot to mention. I have unloaded the camera driver and reloaded and also unloaded Messenger and reloaded
OK,
you should try to RE-install your camera program to your computer, if this doesn't work you may have problem in your computer "virus" try to format your computer, if this doesn't work may be your messenger have some trouble or the WDM Image Capture have some trouble.
So try this if you can...
