Any info on do-it-yourself upper endoscopy?

My Dr recommends an upper endoscopy. I'm not sure what the total cost is but am guessing upwards of $2K. So I've been thinking of buying a used endoscope on e-bay, doing the procedure myself, then selling the endoscope. I would wash it well before and after. Where can I get info, instructions, etc? I know it would require medication but I'm thinking of using just enough sedative to control the gag reflex and still be awake enough to do the procedure.

That is great idea and much safer than having a surgeon do it. Even an experienced doctor can have a situation where the esophagus or duodenum are punctured. That's because they sedate you and you can't feel the pain that would warn of an impending puncture.
I suggest an OTC sore throat spray containing benzocaine to suppress the urge to gag while inserting the scope.
Be sure to video the whole thing. If you survive you could maybe make a little money off of it. Otherwise is would help the authorities understand what happened and could support your nomination for a Darwin award.
