Why is the part of brain that controls the right hand much larger than the bit in control of the right foot?

The right hand is more articulate and sensitive than the right foot and requires a greater density of neurons to control the fingers seprately and in fine gradations than are necessary to make the foot perform, which is much less fine. More neurons take up a bigger part of the cortical motor strip.

There is a famous drawing called the cortical homonculus that represents the parts of the body drawn proportionally to the amount of cortex dedicated to them rather than their actual size. which foot controls the movements of the snowboard?

In general is it the front foot or back foot that is used to guide a snowboard?
In general does the back foot or front foot guide the snowboard while turning?

Both. It'd be pretty hard to snowboard with just one foot, you need them both to board well. That being said they steer differently. It probably feels like the back foot works more because it's the one kicking back out the line and the front foot seems to be leading, more than turning.
