Problem With Picture On SONY VIDEOSCOPE KP-53V15... Can You Help?

Just received a 60" SONY VIDEOSCOPE KP-53V15 from a friend. She told me that the picture sometimes changes to a pink/red tone. i have tried adjusting it, using the menu on the tv (does not have a remote). The colors are all fine except where pictures etc. should be white they are pink. Please I am trying to figure out what the problem is before having a repair man come into my home and ask me for $1000 to fix a tv that i just received.

1000 Dollars ? Noooo way, not even a worst case scenario on that TV set...

IF YOU ARE LUCKY...the labor would be $ 100 to get rid of the pink. All the TV TECH has to do is adjust the white balance (several steps in this process)

IF you are UNLUCKY...You would end up having to replace the TV set, because you would NOT want to replace all 3 picture tubes in it.

Now...you should call your nearest TV repair company (does not have to be a Sony Authorized servicer ) and get them to come to your home and perform a white balance to your TV set...IF it still looks bad, then you KNOW you need a NEW TV SET. because those picture tubes are "just worn out".....
