Casio PX-120 pedal problem?

As I was playing my digital piano that came with the 3 pedal unit, the damper pedal (the right most pedal) stopped working. It would not sustain any notes at all. Then I noticed that the pedal makes a loud snapping sound whenever it's pressed. So as an alternative, I used the footswitch included with the piano.

When the pedal was working, it made a squeaking sound whenever I pressed it. It didn't affect the notes being sustained, but it was distracting at times.

This digital piano is only 5 months old, and I got it at Best Buy. Has this situation happened to any of you who use the pedal unit with the PX-120? What should I do?

A pedal should last more than 5 months. Check your warranty and contact both BB and Casio. Neither company wants unhappy customers.

Even if you have a foot switch, it is important that you have an on/off switch on the equipment itself for quick safety response in case of emergency when your foot switch is stucked up. There is no clear law about this requirement.
