How does one take video from one source and embed it to another?

How does one take video from one source and embed it to another?
I want to add some video from youtube to another site I was told that the best way to do this was embedding. Can someone please explain how it works as well as how to do it?

Go to Youtube, play any video you like and you'll see EMBED code on the left side of the video screen.

Copy the EMBED code

Then, within your site (w/site,blogger,wordpress and etc) make sure you click on HTML before Paste the EMBED code.
