What is my major called?

I've decided that I would like to major in graphic arts and video editing but I have no idea what the name of the major or job is actually called >.<

An example is the commercial where you only see peoples hands and they are telling a story and the story is moving. Anyone know which one I'm talking about? Shane White does one I think its for HP printers.
Some more examples of what the job does
is like music videos sometimes that involve both graphic art and video
or some commercials.I want to be the person who helps edit or creates them.

Opinions on Laptops?

I have a HP Pavillion desktop and have had absolutely no problems with it, but i want to get rid of the desktop clutter.
I use the computer primarily for e-mail, playing online games, nothing very graphic things like poker. Have never bought a game but may in the future. I do use a printer a lot. Have never downloaded music or videos. What would you suggest I get ? I have highspeed cable internet and a lot of folders with saved sights so i do need space. Would like to stick to an HP because I have been very happy with it.
