In a scene in the movie Shooter, Mark Wahlberg buys several bottles of water, salt, sugar and marinating needles. He then goes to a restroom and mixes some sugar water, salt water. connects the bottles with a hose and sticks the needle in his arm. What is this for? They say in the movie that its for osmotic pressure or something...

I've never seen the movie, but hospitals do a similar thing.

Adding sugar to water gives you a sucrose solution, good for an energy boost. It's handy for a patient that is having trouble eating enough food. The sugar give the body energy.

The salt creates a saline solution. This is VITAL when using an I.V. The blood cells in your body will literally explode if you inject pure water into your vein. Basically, it pushes the cellular fluid out, and tries to 'cram' itself in.

results for a DIY solar water heater?

How do i get the results for a homemade solar water heater that consists of a bottle. balck hose and a box. I need the results without actually conducting the test.
