I need help concerning installation of drivers for a microscope eyepiece digital camera.?

I have purchased from eBay a digital microscope eyepiece. It has an installation CD Ulead Photo Explorer 7.0. The 2nd part of the installation was to load the driver(s) necessary to run the camera in the microscope eyepiece I purchased (Model MA88). When I plugged the eyepiece into the USB port it attempted to install the CIF Single Chip, but said it could not be found. Ulead no longer supports 7.0, so I don't have any technical support available. I am concerned about just searching to download the CIF Single Chip driver. I don't want to risk exposing my computer. I don't know how to verify a site as safe to download from. I see that driverguide.com is a site someone recommended. I also don't know if just adding this driver will solve my problem. The Photo Explorer seems to be installed correctly. It is just that the system does not see the camera in the microscope eyepiece, which seems to indicate the need for the driver. Thanks for any recommendations you can give.

driverguide.com is a good place to start..also I have found by searching for the model name you may find forums that help. for instance I have Vista and a HP 1215 printer and HP has no drivers, but I looked it up and found in a forum that I could use the 7200 series drives in Vista. Sure enough it works great. As far as risk on sites, well your Anti Virus sweat should catch any bad sites/files for you as long as you keep it up to date.

Note: when you go to Control PanelSystem and Device Manager you may see this device under Other, you can simply click on it and select Update Driver and then browse to the CD that has the drivers in hopes that they have a Driver on that CDRom disk or drivers you may have downloaded off a website.

What's a good gift to get for around $100-300?

Something for a geek. I'm thinking of a digital microscope or an amazon kindle. He hates macs, so ipods (or anything apple related) are out of the question.

I own the Kindle 2, so let me give you some of my opinions for you to make your decision. It is a great device, and I've to say I love it! I think I've read over 30 books with my Kindle, no glitches so far! And since Kindle books are cheaper than actual books, I think I've saved around $120 on buying books already.

One of the reasons I love my Kindle is that it has helped me improve a lot on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I have the Kindle, waiting time like when I'm waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing like that is simply wasted. Now I just need to bring the Kindle 2 along with me, and all my favorite books are inside it. Another thing I like the most is the text-to-speech function, which means I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I've myself busy on some boring things, say when I'm on the step machine or doing some housework...

I like reading and at the beginning I did miss a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work very well, it is really like reading books... Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don't feel tired... And I now prefer to manage all books inside the Kindle rather than my never big enough bookshelf... And like to do bookmarking, annotation, dictionary lookup without any additional thing but a Kindle.

There are quite a lot of free books (tips: if you're outside the U.S. all the books will have US$2 added, but when you choose to download to computer when you check out, the $2 will be waived, and you can copy the books to your Kindle through USB cable), and many Kindle books, magazines and newspapers are cheaper than the actual paper version. I remember I read these reviews about the benefits of the Kindle when I decided to buy it:
